I've been catching up on the terrible news. It's been a vigil to listen to all of it, as CNN and HNN loop through the material over and over.
One common theme is how familiar this is becoming. Columbine. An Amish schoolhouse. Now a college campus. We are all watching (or, at least, I am watching) trying my best to not get used to it.
More of the 33 names being released.
As I was listening to the news, listening for new updates and more of those horrific eyewitness accounts, I was trying to read Elie Wiesel's Nobel Peace Prize winning book, Night. What a mistake. I'm putting it down for now. I'll read it when the horror passes us over.
As I type this, a college in Texas is being evacuated after a threatening note is found in a bathroom.
Maybe the horror is here to stay.
