I couldn't have asked for an easier night last night. I basically had two patients (oddly, both were admitted for vertigo) and both wanted to sleep the night. I also was working with an LPN but she was very independent, and about all I really did for her was to take one of her assigned patients to the dialysis floor at 0530.
I am still getting over my cold. I slept most of the day Tuesday and still woke up with a headache and a weird hot feverish feeling (but no temperature). So I've been taking it easy, watching episodes of Star Trek (Spectre of the Gun ffrom the originals, and Time's Arrow from Next Generation.
I've also been keeping an eye on a few blogs dealing specifically with high school students. I wish blogs were available when I was a teacher. It would have been an interesting interface to keep in touch with parents. But the blogs nowadays are being used to facilitate written communication between students themselves. What a great idea! Back in my introverted high school days, I would have loved to have a way to get my thoughts out via the written word. If you go to these links, note the difference in writing styles between the females and the males (yes there are execptions but a pattern can be discerned nonetheless). Intriguing.

I've also been meaning to link to this excellent blog from New Zealand. The photography is absolutely stunning. Every time I visit, I keep thinking to myself, surely, I can take some great photographs of the beautiful Arizona desert (thus the pic above), but there's simply no way to fake what must be intrinsic talent. The dog he uses as his background reminds me of my dog from years ago, and even has the same name.
