Over the past several weeks, they've been playing all of the Harry Potter movies on cable, and it was nice watching all of them before we went to see The Deathly Hallows Part 2 in the theater. As everyone has been writing, it is a fitting end to the movies. It's also the darkest of all the movies, and it's pretty much open season on high school aged witches and wizards. A shocking number of them are killed defending Hogwarts from Voldemort. No cute singing frogs in this movie. Spoilers after the split...

This morning, the market just isn't cooperating with my stock picks!  :-)  I'm not too worried about today's bumpy ride as a result of the ongoing shirmish over the debt ceiling. In fact, this downward direction could help me find a good (lower) entry point on these interesting stocks, all based on their recent earnings reports:

Amazon (AMZN),  W R Grace and Co (GRA), ACI Worldwide (ACIW), Baidu (BIDU) and SAP AG (SAP) all had good earnings with positive guidance. They are all strong stocks. What I usually look for is their first pullback to the 50 day Moving Average:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Adjustment Bureau; Stocktwits; Chart.ly...

•  Yes it's a thriller, but they should have sold The Adjustment Bureau as a love story. Another twist on the Fate vs. Love conflict, but it's smart and clever and all of the actors are great.
•  My blog gets a lot of hits on the following topics (in decending order of hits): Jean Watson Nursing Theory, Jailbreaking the Kindle, recording lab results in shorthand, and Maricopa County Jails. The traffic is cool, but to be honest, these days, my heart isn't all that much into any of these topics. I've been working really hard on improving my stock trading technique. I've started using StockTwits, and I've gotten a lot out of reading other traders' tweets, and I've started writing tweets of my own. So there'll be more blog entries about stocks. They also have a charting function where you can tweet chart patterns. Cool.
