Another wonderful day with my parents and nephew. Although I am definitely getting homesick for my own life in Phoenix, I am also definitely going to miss being around my family.
Over the past several nights, I've been staying up later and later. Last night I didn't get to bed until almost 5am, which meant getting up later and later. The past two days, I've been sleeping in until lunch. I guess I'm slowly getting back to my usual pattern of sleeping during the day and working night shift. Last night, I spent up the entire night watching bloopers of Friends on YouTube. Which is interesting because I find them to be hillarious even though I've never really watched the show.
My Dad and I spent the evening bouncing between the Democratic National Convention and the US Open. All I gotta say is that the Republicans have a lot to live up to after all the oratory of Hillary, Bill and Joe Biden. Stephen Spielberg's tribute to Veterans brought a tear to my eye. I plan to watch the Republican Convention as well.
I'm not really into tennis enough to enjoy the US Open.
I've also been teaching my Mom how to use the GPS in her car. I'm impressed enough by it that I plan to get one in the near future. I didn't realize they talked you through the turns, and Mom's built-in version also had great accuracy, and gave you plenty of notice before the turn. I'm terrible about finding places, and I tend not to go because I hate getting lost.
